Good afternoon – Boa tarde
Good evening – Boa tarde
Good night – Boa noite
Bye – Adeus
Yes – Sim
No – Não
Please – Por favor
Thank you – Obrigada (female speaker)/Obrigado (male speaker)
You’re welcome – De nada
I’m sorry – Desculpe
I don’t understand – Não percebo/entendo
Important Questions
Do you speak English? – Fala inglês?
How do you say… in portuguese? – Como se diz… em português?
Can you help me? – Pode ajudar-me?
Can you repeat please? – Por favor, pode repetir?
How much is this? – Quanto custa?
Where is…? – Onde é…?
Where is the toilet? – Onde é/fica a casa-de-banho?
