Let me share with you my Top 8 Most Instagrammable Places in Madrid and some tips to avoid the crowds. You can check my complete Madrid City Guide here.
PARQUE DEL RETIRO
It’s the most important park and one of the most popular places in Madrid. There, you can find the Monument to King Alfonso XII, the lake and the famous Palacio de Cristal. Basically, you can take photos in any corner of the garden.
PALACIO DE CRISTAL DEL RETIRO
It’s a beautiful metal and glass structure and it’s also one of the most instagrammable places in Madrid. I advise you to get there at opening time to avoid the crowds. It opens at 10 a.m. and the admission is free. Be aware that no tripods are allowed.
EL JARDÍN SECRETO DE SALVADOR BACHILLER
I really loved the concept behind it. The decor is absolutely stunning. It looks like an enchanted forest hidden in the heart of Madrid and creates such a charming atmosphere. The food presentation is super pretty, which makes it so instagrammable.
PALACIO REAL DE MADRID
There are many different views of the Royal Palace and it looks beautiful from all angles. You don’t even need to enter the Palace to take amazing pictures. The photos below were taken outside.
JARDINES DE SABATINI
Save this travel tip: if you’re planning to visit Madrid make sure you go to Sabatini Gardens, which are behind the Royal Palace. It’s a beautiful place and has the best view to the Royal Palace. Plus, it is not overcrowded. You can thank me later.
GRAN VÍA
It’s great for strolling, admiring the architecture, shopping or admiring the city’s fast pace. Down the avenue, you’ll find the famous Metropolis Building (one of the most photographed buildings in Madrid) and the Schweppes Building.
PLAZA DE CIBELES
It’s my favorite square in Madrid! To get a photo there without cars you just have to be patient. You need to pay attention to the traffic lights. You might stand there for a while but, for a couple of seconds, you will get the road just for yourself. That’s when you take the shot!
PUERTA DE ALCALÁ
Last but not least, the most famous roundabout in Madrid: Puerta de Alcalá. You might notice a queue of people in the middle of a crossing. They’re all lining up to get a photo there. You can wait there or change the perspective.
