What’s In My Carry On & Packing Tips

Let’s be honest, packing can be a nightmare. It’s not always easy to fit all the clothes in a small space. Ladies, we all know how easy it is to overpack. Don’t pretend that you don’t know what I’m talking about, I know you do. For this very reason, I’m going to share with you my best packing tips.

My Packing Tips

First things first

Choose your bag wisely. Check your airline’s website for the specific requirements since each airline has its own rules.

The next tip is something that I always do. Once you have a clear idea of what you’ll need make a packing list. I will leave you my very own checklist down below.

Also, don’t forget to check the weather. It’s very important.

Packing your shoes

I always pack my shoes first because they’re the heaviest items so place them at the bottom of your suitcase.

Shoes are probably the most difficult items to pack, due to their shape, so I advise you to only pack two pairs. You can wear a third pair on the plane.

Use the inside of your shoes as storage space. Fill them with socks and soft underwear. That way, if your shoes get squished, the socks will help them retain their shape.

Don’t forget to cover your shoes to protect your clothes. You can use a shower cap for that.

Packing your clothes

Start by planning your outfits for the trip, that way you will know exactly what to put in your bag. Choose one or two extra pieces of clothing in case you need to change and always give priority to fabrics that don’t wrinkle.

Another great tip is to wear your heaviest items on the plane so that you don’t have to stuff them into your carry-on. This will maximize the amount of space you have in your bag for other items.

Roll your clothes instead of folding them. I promise you will be surprised by how much space you’re going to save. This is the best method if you’re trying to fit a lot into a small bag, trust me.

Pack fragile items in the center of your case. This way, they are less likely to be broken.

Packing your liquids

All liquids must be stored in containers smaller than 100ml and must be transported in a single, transparent and resealable plastic bag, with maximum dimensions of 20x20cm and total capacity up to 1 liter.
