Big news! According to Lonely Planet, Lisbon is the perfect city destination for digital nomads. Here is why.

Warm weather

Spring and autumn are great, with mild temperatures and quieter streets. Lisbon is usually crowded during the summer and many nomads relocate during the cold winter.

Cheap, tasty food

Lisbon is a foodie’s paradise and there’s food for all tastes and budgets. You can eat tasty food at local restaurants serving cheap daily specials that change through the week depending on what the owners have in the kitchen.

The sense of community

What digital nomads like the most in the Portuguese capital is the sense of community among freelancers. There’s a Facebook group called Lisbon Digital Nomads that has nearly 19,000 members, and arranges weekly meetups.

Tech opportunities

It is said that Lisbon is about to become the Silicon Valley on the Tagus River since Google is going to set up a base here ensuring big opportunities for developers, digital nomads and remote workers.

High quality of life

Hotels and guesthouses are everywhere but most digital nomads opt for rented apartments and rooms or co-living accommodations.
There is Wi-fi everywhere in Lisbon, including in most coffee shops, and mobile 4G coverage is widespread across the city.
Then there’s the lifestyle. Lisbon is the right place to go to relax, eat, drink and party when the mood takes you.

These are all good reasons to choose Lisbon as the perfect city destination for digital nomads.
